wow...I havent posted in here for so long haha...its been atleast 2 months. It was Scorsese's birthday yesterday...I watched Mean Streets to celebrate it.
I guess I just cant keep up with a journal. anyways, the other day...Saha told me that we are getting like 400 visitors on the Aamir site, I was so happy to hear that...I am also happy that the gallery is back up. well..its been like, I think 4 months since the site has been up...I rememeber we used to get 100 visitors so its an improvement for sure. I hope things get even better.
ahh I am sleepy, got this research paper to finish...urgh, so annoying but its better than the other one on FDA...the one was so boring. This one is going much better than the other one. |

I spent 4 hours today studying, If I dont well on this test I am gonna scream, like really loud haha. I dont like the essay I wrote though, I need to revise it.
Gowri, Rinks, Romz and I had a funny convo today. We concluded that Gowri can do a phd on Vyju, I can do one on RK and Rinks can do one on Hema. LOL, Romz keeps calling Amitabh Bachchan a buddha! I like Gowri's name for AB - lumboo, its soo cute haha. silly nonsense talk, thats all msn is about. Sholay was on tv today ....grrrr I still cant believe RGV is remaking it, what a loser. Hes off my favorite directors list, he wasnt making any good films anyway. I think what angers me more is Don and Sahib Bibi Aur Ghulam remake, its such a joke, anyways I am so nervous about tommorrow, I am such a dork LOL. hmmmm I have the nicest picture of Hrithik Roshan on my desktop, I keep staring at it hehe - I wish he didnt sign stupid films, same goes for Vivek. Uff I wish had some money and time, so I could see some more Satyajit Ray films. blah, it sucks being a film buff and a college student - they both dont go together well I am so pissed at how expensive some of these books for college are! Even if you get them used, they still cost alot. Its especially annoying if the class is only for like 8 weeks. Gowri's Xanga is so much fun to read! It always gives me a good laugh. Shes always talking about her friend Shirley, eating sugar and is constantly drooling over her lumboo - we girls drool way too much hehehe. Oh, I am quite excited about that upcoming Rishi Kapoor and Dimple film! Its so cool they coming together onscreen after so many years. They were damn cute in Bobby and really sexy in Saagar I mean seriously, "Jaane Do Na" is one hot song haha.
I made some Clark Gable icons, ahhh he was sexy LOL. man, I make the worst icons haha but I like making them, especially of classic stars. I need to make some for the Aamir site. Saha is gonna be updating with caps from Aamir films since there arent gonna be too many new pics now.

urgh, I have a math test on Monday. I have been studying all weekend, not very fun! LOL.
hmmm...Aamir looks really chubby these days hehe. I wish he loses weight quick. No one likes his new hairstyle I dont think its that bad. I wrote in Aamir's blog, hoping he will reply to me. I tried getting his attention the best way I could. I wish I could call him like Saha does but I dont have the courage! The blog is closing soon since Mangal Pandey has released now. OMG, I saw the Amitabh Bachchan in the B n B video again....! it would have been okay if AB wasnt moving his lips trying rap hehehe...what a silly video It was a good laugh.
awwww I love this pic of Marilyn....

Well, I made some icons from Sangam, Mr and Mrs 55 and a small Clark Gable banner.

| | Yeh Dosti - Sholay | ] |
It was Sholay's B-day yesterday!

One of the greatest Bollywood films ever made! I am so jealous of Romi, she saw it in the theaters recently. Maybe one day I will see it too in the theaters, *sigh* one day. Some people think Sholay is overrated, but I feel if a film is great it deserves to be praised and talked about, also more people watch Sholay than any other classic Bollywood film, so its more talked about then say Awara. Sholay is total entertainment, people still enjoy the film thats why its so popular. I have seen it many times but I never get bored of it. ---SHOLAY FOREVER--
My favorite dialogues:
"kyonki mujhe befizul baat karne ki aadat toh hain nahin"
Gabbar: "arre ho Samba! kitna inaam rakhe hai sarkar hum par"? Samba - "poore pachaas hajar"!
"sikke aur insaan mein shayad yehi farak hai"
"mujhe to sab policewalon ki soorat the ek jaisi lagti hain"
"jaante ho duniya mein sabse bada bhoj kya hota hai? Baap ke kandhe par bete ka janaza"
Gabbar: "arre ho Samba! kitna inaam rakhe hai sarkar hum par"?
"when I dead, police coming...police coming budhiya going to jail...in jail budiya chakki pising and pising...and pising"
"hmm....kitne aadmi the"?
"hum angezron ke zamane ke jailor hain"!
"pyaari nahin, bahut saari baatein karti hai"
"mujhe gabbar chahiye, zinda"
"tumhara naam kya hai basanti"?
Gabbar: "tera kya hoga Kaalia"? Kaalia: "ss...Sardar, maine aap ka namak khaaya hai sardar" Gabbar: "ab goli kha"
"duniya ki kisi jail ki deewar itni pakki nahin, ke gabbar ko bees saal rookh sake"
"yeh haath humko dede thakur"
"hmmm...yahni shaadi ke baad tere ghar mein mujhe aayaa ki naukri milnewali hai"
"gaonwalon, main jaa raha hoon...bhagwan main aa raha hoon"
"thakur na jhook sakta hai na toot sakta hai, thakur sirf mar sakta hai...magar jab tak jeeonuga...sar utha ke jeeounga"
"bahut yaarana lagta hai"
"jab tak tere pair chalenge...uski saans chalegi, tere pair rookhe..yeh bandookh chalegi...."
"sala...nautanki, gaadi gaadi drama karta hai"

I watched Socha Na Tha, it was a nice light-hearted movie.
I think Abhay Deol did some good acting, hes better than his brothers. I also like the dialogues in the film. It wasnt filmi like other films, more natural. Socha Na Tha is better than other films that released this year.
LOL Khalid today posted on the Aamir forum saying we need more members, ab aur kahan se laon! haha...jitne hain, even that amazes me. I can invite people, thats all I can do - posting is their decision.

I also made a sig after like 8 months hehe. I noticed I never made anything of Guru Dutt before. I dont think its THAT great but Saha told me when she saw it at the Aamir forum, she thought it was made by Faizan, Jem or Meeta - now THATS a compliment! LOL...even though I still dont think its too great but oh well, I love Guru Dutt. haha...he was so cute and what a talented director. The members at the Guru Dutt community are complaining no one posts there, haha I try...I post, if no one else does...we cant do much. Not many older people visit Bollywood forums/communities or websites and not too many young people like me watch old films, so its kinda difficult. In the classic section at Talkbollywood - we are all young people - Rinki, Gowri, Pari, ect ect and I. I have noticed non-desi's my age watch old Hollywood films, alot do but few desi's watch old Bollywood films - its kinda sad but yea the truth. I love old Hollywood too, especially Orson Welles and Audrey Hepbuen. I recently watched "The Good, The Bad and the Ugly"...wow amazing movie. I was talking to Raj about it, he also loves Serigo Leone films - he was an amazing director.

Wow, I havent updated in a LONG time.
well - our Aamir site is done, its been up for 4 days and already has so many hits and our forum is active too! I am glad the site is doing well.
I hope Aamir emails Saha , we both would be so happy if he does. He said he would see the site and email her. Anyways, Mangal Pandey is releasing this friday! FINALLY - I will see Aamir again. I hope the film is good, Bollywood disappoints too much. Thats why I am keeping my expectations low.

I watched Batman over the weekend, I cant say it was a GREAT movie, it was just about good. The action scenes could have been better and the love angle wasnt interesting enough. It was better than other Batman movies, but still nothing like the two Spiderman movies.
I am quite upset that Sarkar wont be releasing here, I really wanted to see this movie in the theaters
cant do anything but wait for the dvd now. This week Paheli came out, it is playing in the theaters but I am not interested in seeing it, it just isnt interesting enough, I have a feeling I wont enjoy this one so theres no use wasting money.
I am really really exited...the music for the Mangal Pandey: The Rising is coming out on July 15, and the film will release in August...its all confirmed!
Memento - ...that movie is awesome. I rewatched it the other day. Its so interesting, this movie starts at the end and ends at the beginning! I love unsual, unique films - Memento is one of them.
Recently TIME magazine - their stories havent been very interesting for me but today the issue I read was. They had a whole special on Abraham Linclon - my favorite President.
"Understanding the spirit of our institutions to aim at the elevation of men, I am opposed to whatever tends to degrade them." - Abraham Lincoln |

Rewatched one of my favorite Shammi Kapoor films "Teesri Manzil"...haha it was so much fun. Its not Vijay Anand's best film, that would be "Guide" but its always enjoyable to watch. I never get tired of the songs.
God! I am really obsessed with Orson Welles at the moment, ever since I saw F for Fake and learned more about him through The Batte Over Citizen Kane. I am so fascinated by him now. F for Fake was the most unusual film I have ever seen, its like an essay. Nothing like it has ever been made, its truly something unique and it deserves repeated viewings. For now I think Touch Of Evil is his best film, just love the camera work in that film. I will see The Trail soon and his other works. I even loved the clips I saw of his unfinished work, now I have to listen to his radio shows haha.

I made some icons....

The new Bollywood film "Parineeta" seems to be getting mixed reactions. Some people totally hate it, others are calling it a classic and some just think its a nice film. "Batman Begins" is having better luck, lots of people loved the film. They say is the best superhero film, better than Spiderman they say.

hmmm I havent seen an Amitabh Bachchan film in like 3 weeks! *shocks*
I am so happy the Rising is going to release in August and the music is coming out in July! |

^^ Orson Welles
I watched "The Battle Over Citizen Kane"...the Oscar nominated documentary about William Hearst and Orson Welles - it was about how they clashed with eachother. I have had the DVD of "Citizen Kane" for a few months, but I never got around to watching this documentary that came on the second disc. It was very good, I learned alot about Orson Welles I didnt know before, little things about his personality. I always thought he was very good looking, I was glad the documentary had some nice pictures of him in his young days. What he did was kinda wrong so I can understand Hearst being upset at him over what he showed in Citizen Kane. He didnt even tell Hearst that the film was inspired by his life. On the other hand, Hearst was pretty mean about it too. He literally wanted to destory the film and Orson Welles. What happened at the Oscars was especially unfair, Citizen Kane only won the award for screenplay despite being nominated for other categories like best actor, director, cinematography. It totally deserved it for cinematography! This was directly because of Hearst and his power over Hollywood at the time, plus alot of people in Hollywood just didnt like Orson Welles. I felt sad for him, after Citizen Kane he never had total control over his films like he did with Citizen Kane and many of them were left unfinished.
In the end, the film ....Citizen Kane lived on and Hearst was pretty much forgotten. I had never even heard of the guy before I got this DVD but I have always heard alot about Citizen Kane. It truly is a great movie. I think its pretty horrible that the film ended up on all these lists! All people see is if the film DESERVES to be listed as the greatest film ever made, they dont just look at the film to see if its good or not. I didnt do that when I watched it, maybe thats why I wasnt disappointed like so many other people get with the film. I am not a big list person anyway, so many great movies dont even make the 100 greatest films list, like Hud is a good example. |

I was really pissed off at Amitabh Bachchan today for various reasons, good thing an episode of "I Love Lucy" came on, it helped me feel better though I feel angry again now LOL. It was a funny episode, as they all are. Lucy and the gang decide to bicycle to the French Riveria, along the way they stop to stay a while in a barn. Lucy wakes up with a goat licking her face and Fred wakes up to a chicken lying an egg on his stomach Next, Lucy milks a cow and amazinlgy she figured out how to do it. The funniest moments came when they were about to cross the border to go back to Italy and Lucy noticed that she forgot where she put her passport
I feel like watching one of my favorite I Love Lucy episodes, the "Vitameatavegemin" episode.
"Hello Friends, I'm your Vitameatavegemin girl. Are you tired, run down, listless? Do you poop out at party's? Are you unpopular? The answer to all your problems is in this little bottle, Vitameatavegemin. Vitameatavegemin contains vitamins, meat, vegetables and minerals. Yes, with Vitameatavegemin you can spoon your way to health. All you do it take a spoonful after every meal. It's so tasty too. It's just like candy. So why don't you join the thousands of happy peppy people and get a great big bottle of Vitameatavegemin tomorrow. That's Vita-Meata-Vegemin"

Just thinking about that episode cracks me up!
anyways...I watched Karam - I liked it. I dont think it has repeat value but its good for one time viewing. It dragged a bit but still I kept watching hehe thats a good thing because there has been many times where when I got really disinterested I would walk out of the room, like when I was watching Main Hoon Na. John Abraham gave a good performance, Priyanka was OKAY. Her role wasnt much. The film was stylish, and had a dark atmosphere to it which suited the film's plot.

Well! I am feeling much better today... no allergies or anything....
I watched the new animated movie "Madagascar"...it was funny and cute. It surely was no Shrek or Finding Nemo but nevertheless it was nice. It had lots of animals jumping around, talking, singing and dancing ....I have never seen a lion friends with a zebra before so that was interesting haha you surely dont see that on animal planet haha...I loved the penguins...they were cute! The beginning was very funny, later on it kinda dragged but oh well.
pic from Madagascar

urgh, I am so upset that Jal, my favorite Pakistani band are not coming Florida to perform ...they are touring the US but arent coming to Florida...is that wrong or what!? Last time I saw a Pakistani band in concert was Junoon...I would love to see Strings and Jal. I would rather pay money to see these guys than pay to see a Bollywood star because I dont think its worth it. For one thing, its way TOO much money and also theres no point I can just see them dance and so silly things in movies. ...dont need to pay to see it AGAIN on stage when I have already seen it a million times on tv and dvd! I find no logic in it, I would only go to a Bollywood concert if Amitabh Bachchan was coming ...then YES, otherwise no no.
Am the only one that thinks Johnny Depp looks stupid in that Willy Wonka getup? Seriously, I think he looks pretty bad! I personally wouldnt watch this remake of the 70's film because it doesnt seem like a good movie. haha...yea thats typical but its the truth. but also because the 70's film was good and all...hmm it seems Hollywood has alot of remakes and inspired films coming out. I dont care much for the others but the new Pink Panther movie...seriously, Steve Martin doesnt suit the role! I saw the trailor...he isnt even funny! ....I personally loved the old Pink Panther films, Peter Sellers was awesome in them.
anyways...my friends are working on this Aamir Khan website, I am helping them out with whatever I can do LOL. The site isnt going too well but I hope we do get it done. I would be sad if we dont. I capped some pics from Lagaan today for the site, I still have to shown them to Vani. I really hope she got in touch with Saba.
pic from Lagaan

Lagaan is one of the best Bollywood films ever made...thats alot coming from me for a Bollywood film these days especially looking at all the bad films being made in the past few years. Aamir starred in two classics back in 2001, Lagaan and Dil Chahta Hai...IMO thats very impressive! Now I have been eagerly awaiting his next home production " The Rising". Quite frankly, I am sick of waiting! Its been too long and the release dates keep changing, now I even have doubts whether its going to be a good film. Nisha would kill me if she read this! LOL...but its really hard to have faith in anyone in Bollywood these days, filmmakers disappoint too much so thats why I have doubts. The latest example is Farhan Akhtar, his debut film was Dil Chahta Hai ...and what is his next film? A remake of the 70's film Don! I mean how pathetic can one get? Whatever happened to the innovative, unique Farhan Akhtar?! I am have been so angry at him for it...he is even going to have the song "khaike paan banaraswala" in it. There goes any creativity out the window.
okay, I need a cute James Dean picture to cool me off
ahh the one and only James Dean....how I love him *sigh*

I think its awesome they are awarding VK Murthy...cant imagine Guru Dutt's films without VK Murthy's cinematography....AND ofcourse the main reason why I always watch these silly award shows is to see Amitabh Bachchan
